Social Awareness and Effectiveness Training (SAET): An educational program to enhance business and personal effectiveness

Tom Horvath, Ph.D., Director

The SAET conference is a temporary learning institution with the sole goal of self-study to help you identify, and manage better, the social rules that govern groups and the rules that you as an individual have evolved to help you adapt in groups. There human relationship phenomena unfold more quickly and plainly than in the typical work or other social environment. Although these phenomena will be available for all to observe, the level of understanding of each participant will be based on his or her prior learning history. The SAET conference draws upon decades of training experiences with similar purposes, including Tavistock conferences, human-relations training, T-groups, group relations training, and leadership development conferences. SAET updates these experiences with recent psychological research, especially personality theory, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, social psychology, and evolutionary psychology. SAET is open to anyone wishing to enhance their understanding of, and capacity to work within, organizations of all kinds.
